The Bernina Express is a panoramic railway service of the Rhaetian Railway connecting Chur in Switzerland with Tirano in Italy via the Bernina Pass, crossing a UNESCO World Heritage railway route. The line reaches 2,253 metres at the Ospizio Bernina, making it the highest trans-Alpine railway crossing without a tunnel, and passes the Morteratsch and Palü glaciers. The Brusio circular viaduct near the Italian border is a celebrated piece of railway engineering.
