Lake Thun

Lake Thun stretches 18 kilometres between Thun and Interlaken with the Bernese Alps rising abruptly to the south and vineyard-covered hills to the north. Château de Spiez stands on a promontory mid-lake, its tower reflected in the water, and several smaller castles punctuate the southern shore. Lake steamers have operated on the route since 1835, making boat travel a traditional means of moving between lakeside towns.
