Eibsee

A turquoise mountain lake situated at 973 metres at the western base of the Zugspitze massif, Eibsee is encircled by a well-marked walking path of approximately eight kilometres. The water's exceptional clarity and colour, fed by cold springs, combined with direct views up to the Zugspitze summit, create one of the most striking alpine lake scenes in Bavaria. The surrounding forest of spruce and pine reflects clearly in calm morning conditions.
