Fira

Fira is the capital of Santorini, perched on the western caldera rim roughly 260 metres above sea level. Cable cars and zigzagging donkey paths connect the clifftop town to the old port below, while the caldera-facing terraces look across the water toward the volcanic islet of Nea Kameni. The Archaeological Museum of Thera and the Museum of Prehistoric Thera hold significant collections from the Minoan and later periods of the island's history.
