The Kato Mili windmills stand on a low hill above the Alefkandra quarter of Mykonos Town, a row of sixteen-century cylindrical stone mills that once ground grain brought in through the harbor below. Seven mills remain intact and form a distinctive silhouette against the Aegean sky, particularly striking at sunset when the light falls from the west across the harbor. The site is one of the most recognizable architectural symbols of the Cycladic islands.
