Val di Funes

This narrow valley south of Bressanone holds one of the canonical images of the South Tyrol: the white Gothic church of Santa Maddalena with its red-roofed farmhouses clustered in green meadows and the Odle Group's vertical dolomite pillars as an immediate backdrop. The view is most striking in spring when wildflowers cover the foreground slopes. A network of trails extends into the Puez-Odle Nature Park above.
