Occupying the ancient northeastern peninsula of Tenerife, Anaga is a deeply eroded mountain range cloaked in laurisilva cloud forest, one of the best-preserved examples of this Tertiary-era ecosystem in the Canary Islands. Narrow ridges plunge dramatically into the Atlantic on both the north and south coasts, and a network of hiking trails connects isolated hamlets with coastal coves. The persistent low cloud that clings to the canopy creates atmospheric conditions prized by landscape photographers.
