Praia da Bordeira lies on the western Algarve coast north of Carrapateira within the Vicentina Coast Natural Park, a wide arc of surf beach backed by dunes and bisected by the Bordeira river estuary. The surrounding clifftop boardwalk provides elevated views across both the beach and the schist headlands. The beach is subject to consistent Atlantic swell and is a popular surf destination, while the dune system is one of the most intact on the Portuguese coast.
