Alhama de Granada is a small Andalusian town dramatically positioned above a deep limestone gorge of the Alhama River in Granada province. The Tajo de Alhama viewpoint, accessible from the town centre, looks down sheer cliffs into the river corridor below. The town retains important Moorish and Renaissance architecture including a Moorish bathhouse and a church built on the site of a former mosque.
