A near-perfect circular cove carved from the Jurassic Coast cliffs, Lulworth Cove is one of the most studied geological formations in England. The surrounding chalk, limestone, and Wealden beds form a compressed cross-section of coastal geology. The calm, sheltered water makes it a popular swimming spot in summer, and the village behind the beach retains much of its historic character.
