Killarney National Park covers over 100 square kilometres of southwest County Kerry, encompassing the three Lakes of Killarney, the ancient oakwoods of Reenadinna and Derrycunnihy, and the high ground of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks including Ireland's highest peak, Carrauntoohil. The park was Ireland's first national park, established in 1932, and is notable for its population of native red deer, the only wild herd remaining on the island of Ireland. Torc Waterfall and Muckross House are among the most visited points within the park.
