Glen Affric is a valley in the western Highlands near Cannich, considered one of the most beautiful glens in Scotland for its combination of ancient Caledonian pinewoods, lochs, and mountain scenery. The native woodland of Scots pine, birch, and rowan along Loch Beinn a'Mheadhain and Loch Affric represents some of the most intact remnants of the original post-glacial forest. The glen provides habitat for red squirrels, pine martens, red deer, and nesting ospreys.
