Duncansby Head is the true northeastern tip of the Scottish mainland, a clifftop headland east of John o'Groats with views across the Pentland Firth to the Orkney islands. A short walk south along the cliff edge leads to the Duncansby Stacks, a group of pointed sandstone sea stacks rising from the sea below sheer flagstone cliffs. Seabirds including puffins, guillemots, and razorbills nest in the cliff faces throughout the summer breeding season.
