Loch Torridon is a sea loch penetrating deep into the northwest Highlands of Scotland, flanked by the ancient Torridonian sandstone mountains of Beinn Alligin, Liathach, and Beinn Eighe. The mountains, composed of some of the oldest rock in Europe at around 750 million years old, produce a rugged landscape unlike anything else on the Scottish mainland. The village of Torridon at the loch head is a base for some of the most demanding and rewarding hillwalking in Scotland.
