Mundal

A small village at the end of Fjærlandsfjord, a northern branch of Sognefjord in Sunnfjord municipality, notable as Norway's declared 'book town' with a concentration of secondhand bookshops. The village sits at the foot of the Jostedalsbreen glacier, whose Flatbreen and Bøyabreen outlet arms descend visibly toward the valley behind the village. The setting — sheltered fjord, orchard meadows, and glacier backdrop — is among the more unusual combinations in Norwegian rural scenery.
