Hornstrandir is an uninhabited nature reserve at the far northwestern tip of Iceland, accessible only by boat from Ísafjörður. The peninsula features sheer sea cliffs, dense Arctic fox populations, and coastal meadows that were farmed until mid-20th-century depopulation. Hiking here is self-supported and demanding, making it a destination for experienced wilderness travelers and wildlife photographers.
