This concert hall in Lyon's Part-Dieu district opened in 1975 as the permanent home of the city's national orchestra. Its bold modernist design features a sweeping concrete shell and a large pipe organ salvaged from an earlier exhibition hall. The fan-shaped auditorium seats around 2,100 and was engineered for symphonic acoustics. Alongside orchestral concerts it hosts recitals and contemporary programming, its curved form standing out among the city's twentieth-century architecture.
