The Mahabat Khan Mosque is a seventeenth-century Mughal mosque in the old walled city of Peshawar, hidden within the bustling Andarshah bazaar. Built during the reign of Shah Jahan and named after a Mughal governor, it features an open marble courtyard, a central ablution pool and a prayer hall crowned by three low domes. Two tall minarets, once used for public announcements and executions in colonial times, rise above the surrounding rooftops. The interior retains painted floral and geometric Mughal frescoes.
