Taxila Museum

Set beside the ancient ruins of Taxila, this museum displays finds from one of the great cities of the Gandhara civilisation. Its collection includes stone and stucco Buddhist sculpture, gold and silver ornaments, coins and everyday objects excavated from the surrounding monasteries and settlements. Arranged to illustrate the layered history of the site, it complements a walk among the exposed stupas and university remains nearby. The pairing of museum and open ruins gives a vivid picture of the Silk Road city.
