This walled classical Chinese garden sits at the southern end of Darling Harbour and was created to mark Australia's bicentenary as a gift reflecting the sister-state relationship between New South Wales and Guangdong. Designed by landscape architects from Guangzhou, it follows traditional principles of balance among water, rock, plants and buildings. Winding paths lead past a central lake, waterfalls, a dragon wall and pavilions with sweeping tiled roofs. A teahouse overlooks the koi pond.
