This Art Deco war memorial stands at the southern end of Hyde Park and honours the people of New South Wales who served in war. Completed in 1934, its pink granite exterior is faced with sculpted figures, and the interior dome is studded with thousands of gold stars, one for each who enlisted from the state. A sculptural group depicting a fallen soldier lies below in the Hall of Silence, reflected in the Pool of Reflection outside. Recent additions include a hall of service and cascade.
