Set on a ridge above English Harbour within the protected dockyard area, this centre presents the history of Antigua from Amerindian settlement through the Georgian naval period. Exhibits and a multimedia show trace the island's military and social past, and a nearby lookout gives sweeping views over the historic harbours. It complements the restored 18th-century dockyard below. The elevated position also takes in Shirley Heights and the surrounding fortified landscape of the south coast.
