West Edmonton Mall is one of the largest shopping and entertainment complexes in North America, a sprawling indoor city that opened in stages beginning in 1981. Beyond hundreds of stores it contains an indoor amusement park, a large water park with a wave pool, an ice rink, an aquarium and a replica of a famous sailing ship on an artificial lake.
