In downtown Boise, this museum preserves the heritage of one of the largest Basque communities outside Europe, centered on the sheepherders who emigrated from the Pyrenees to the American West. Housed in one of the oldest brick buildings in the city, alongside a preserved boarding house where immigrants once lodged, it displays artifacts, photographs, and exhibits on Basque language, dance, and daily life. The museum anchors a block known as the Basque Block, a hub of restaurants and festivals celebrating the community's living culture.
