The oldest house in Trenton, this handsome brick Georgian residence was built around 1719 by the merchant William Trent, for whom the city is named. Set on grounds near the Delaware River, its symmetrical facade and restored interiors reflect the taste of an early colonial gentleman and landowner. Furnished with period antiques, the house museum interprets daily life, commerce, and the enslaved and servant labor that supported such estates in the early eighteenth century.
