Anse Major is a secluded granite-framed beach on the northwest coast of Mahé, reachable only by a coastal footpath or by boat. The well-marked trail traverses dry scrubland and smooth pink boulders, passing viewpoints over the turquoise sea before descending to the sheltered cove. Its clear water and offshore reef make it a rewarding spot for snorkelling, and its inaccessibility keeps it quieter than road-connected beaches. The walk itself, through the fringe of Morne Seychellois National Park, is a popular half-day outing.
