A reservoir on the Notwane River south of the capital, built in the 1960s to supply water to the growing city of Gaborone. Its broad expanse of water set against low hills has become a recreation spot for sailing, fishing and birdwatching, and the shoreline attracts picnickers and walkers. The dam is central to the water security of the region, and its levels are closely watched during the dry season. Wildlife from the adjoining game reserve is often seen along the water's edge.
