Rising above the southwestern edge of the capital, this forested hill is the highest point overlooking Kigali and a popular destination for hiking, horseback riding and panoramic views across the city's many ridges. Trails climb through eucalyptus stands and farmland to viewpoints that take in the sprawl of the capital laid across its famous hills. The ascent is a favourite morning activity for residents and visitors alike. From the summit area the layout of Rwanda's hilly capital, threaded with valleys and roads, is clearly visible.
