This museum on the outskirts of Kigali occupies the former residence of two Rwandan presidents and preserves the wreckage of the aircraft shot down in 1994, the event that triggered the genocide. Visitors tour the modernist house, its bunkers, secret passages and grounds while guides explain the political context of the killings. The scattered plane debris still lies in the garden where it fell. The site combines domestic history with a pivotal moment in the nation's tragedy, making it one of the capital's most sobering historical attractions.
