The Cathedral of Bata is the principal Catholic church of the mainland region of Equatorial Guinea, serving the country's largest continental city on the Gulf of Guinea coast. Its architecture reflects the Spanish missionary heritage that shaped the region under colonial rule. As the ecclesiastical centre for the mainland, it hosts major religious ceremonies and anchors the urban core of Bata near the waterfront. It is one of the recognisable landmarks of the coastal city.
