The Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Bamako is the Roman Catholic cathedral of the Malian capital, built during the French colonial period in the early twentieth century. Its twin towers and Gothic-inspired facade stand out in a predominantly Muslim city, marking the seat of the Archdiocese of Bamako. The stone church anchors a quarter of colonial buildings near the centre. Though Catholics are a minority, it remains an active place of worship and a notable colonial-era building.
