The Executive Mansion is the official residence and office of the President of Liberia, a substantial modernist building on Capitol Hill overlooking the Atlantic in central Monrovia. Constructed in the mid-twentieth century, it has been the setting for pivotal moments in the nation's political history, including coups and transfers of power. Its fortified grounds and prominent hilltop position make it a defining feature of the capital's government district. Though access is restricted, it remains a potent symbol of executive authority.
