The Niavaran Palace Complex sits in a leafy district of northern Tehran and served as the principal residence of the last Pahlavi family. Within its walled garden stand a Qajar-era pavilion, a private library, and the modernist main palace, whose interiors remain largely as they were left in the late 1970s. Visitors see mid-century furnishings, gifts of state, and personal effects preserved in place. A separate hall displays the family's automobiles, while mature cedars and reflecting pools fill the grounds.
