The Sa'dabad Complex spreads across a wooded slope in northern Tehran, a compound of some eighteen palaces built by the Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties as a royal summer retreat. Among plane trees, streams, and terraced gardens, its pavilions now serve as public museums of fine art, royal costume, and military history. The White Palace and Green Palace, with mirrored halls and carved stucco, show how Iran's rulers blended European interiors with Persian craft. Shaded avenues link the scattered buildings.
