King Abdullah Financial District

A large business district on the northern edge of Riyadh, planned as a cluster of high-rise towers linked by elevated walkways and a driverless metro line. Developed as part of Saudi Arabia's push to diversify its economy, it houses the country's stock exchange and financial regulators. Visitors come to see the sculptural skyline and the conference and cultural venues added in later phases. The district's angular glass towers and the spiralling monument at its heart make it a recognisable emblem of the capital's modern ambitions.
