Manakamana is a hilltop temple in the Gorkha district dedicated to a wish-granting form of the goddess Bhagwati, one of central Nepal's most visited pilgrimage sites. Long reached only by a steep foot climb, it is now served by a cable car rising dramatically from the Trisuli River valley, and the ride itself has become an attraction. The tiered temple sits amid a small bazaar of shops and offering stalls at the ridge top, surrounded by terraced hills.
