This national landmark sits on the western Shakarparian Hills overlooking Islamabad, its four curving granite petals arranged like a blooming flower to represent the country's provinces, with three smaller petals for the territories. Opened in 2007, the inner walls are carved with reliefs depicting Pakistani history, culture and figures such as Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Visitors climb to a central platform for sweeping views across the capital toward the Margalla Hills, and an adjoining museum traces the freedom movement.
