A rugged granite mountain forming the northern skyline of Seoul and part of Bukhansan National Park. Its distinctive bare rock peaks are a magnet for hikers and rock climbers, laced with trails that climb through forested valleys past temples and streams to the exposed summit ridge. The main peaks reward the climb with panoramic views over the capital and its ring of mountains. Because it lies within the city limits and is served directly by subway, it ranks among the most heavily used climbing and hiking areas in the country.
