The Tempozan Ferris Wheel turns above the waterfront of Osaka Bay and was among the tallest in the world when it opened in 1997. Standing beside the harbor's aquarium and shopping complex, its illuminated wheel doubles as a giant weather forecast, glowing different colors to signal the coming day's conditions. A full rotation lasts around fifteen minutes, lifting riders high enough to see the bay, the port, the mountains, and the city skyline. Some cabins have transparent floors for a more thrilling view straight down to the waterfront.
