A terraced public garden laid out on the eastern bastions of Valletta, overlooking the entrance to the Grand Harbour and the breakwater below. At its centre stands a neoclassical monument shaped like a small temple, raised in memory of Sir Alexander Ball, an early British administrator of Malta. Nearby is the Siege Bell Memorial, a large domed bell tolled to commemorate those lost in the wartime convoys. The gardens are quieter than their upper counterpart and give sweeping views toward the Three Cities.
