Antequera Dolmens Site

Menga's roof slab alone weighs well over a hundred tonnes — prehistoric engineering that still stuns at Antequera, where the dolmens of Menga and Viera and the El Romeral tholos rise beneath their original earth mounds. Built of huge stone blocks in the Neolithic and Bronze Age, the tombs converse with two natural landmarks, La Peña de los Enamorados and the karst crags of El Torcal, toward which they are aligned. UNESCO inscribed this cornerstone of European megalithism in 2016.
