This archaeological site on the edge of Niš preserves a luxurious late-Roman suburban estate associated with the emperor Constantine the Great, who was born in the ancient city here. Excavations have revealed a villa with peristyle courtyards, colourful mosaic floors, a granary, and remains of thermal baths and a nymphaeum. Sculpture and everyday objects recovered here attest to the wealth of a fourth-century imperial residence. A protective structure lets visitors walk above the preserved pavements and foundations.
