The ASTRA open-air museum spreads across a wooded valley south of Sibiu and is one of the largest ethnographic parks in Europe. Hundreds of relocated traditional buildings, including watermills, windmills, homesteads, workshops, and churches, line paths around a lake. Gathered from across Romania, they showcase rural crafts, folk architecture, and pre-industrial technology in original forms. Visitors watch craft demonstrations, ride a boat, and follow trails through the reconstructed countryside.
