The Kamzik transmitter is a tall television and radio tower rising from a forested hill north of Bratislava, completed in 1975 during the socialist era. Standing about two hundred metres high, its concrete shaft carries a revolving restaurant and an observation gallery reached by lift. From the platform, visitors survey the city, the winding Danube, the Little Carpathian foothills, and on clear days the neighbouring capitals of the region. The wooded slopes below are threaded with walking trails and a popular recreation area.
