The Old Town Hall of Toruń is a massive Gothic brick building occupying the centre of the market square, considered one of the grandest medieval town halls in the region. Its four wings enclose a courtyard, and a tall tower rises above, offering a viewpoint over the red-roofed old town and the Vistula. Once a seat of civic power and trade, it now houses a district museum with collections of Gothic art, stained glass, coins and portraits of Polish kings. The building embodies the wealth of the Hanseatic trading town that grew up along the river.
