Ardenica Monastery

A Byzantine-era Orthodox monastery on a low hill in central Albania, where the national hero Skanderbeg is said to have married. Its church of the Nativity of the Virgin holds fine post-Byzantine frescoes. Olive groves spread across the surrounding plain.
