Good to know
The Transfiguration Monastery clings to a cliff above the Yantra north of Veliko Tarnovo, decorated with a famous Wheel of Life mural by Zahari Zograf. Rockfalls have long threatened its terraced buildings. Forested slopes rise steeply behind it.
