Four volcanic summits poke above the eastern Pacific far off Mexico's coast — Socorro, San Benedicto, Roca Partida and Clarión, the exposed peaks of a submerged mountain range. The Revillagigedo islands and their waters are a magnet for life: giant manta rays, whales, dolphins and sharks cruise offshore while seabird colonies crowd the slopes. Divers speak of the place in hushed tones; UNESCO listed the archipelago as World Heritage in 2016.
