A high-altitude park of páramo grassland, wild horses, and pine-fringed lagoons wrapped around the symmetrical cone of Cotopaxi volcano. Day visitors bike down the volcano's flanks, hike to the José Rivas refuge at 4,864 meters, or circle Limpiopungo lake watching Andean gulls and caracaras.
