Venezuela's highest summit at just under 5,000 meters, a rock-and-ice horn in the Sierra Nevada de Mérida crowned by a bust of the Liberator. Its shrinking glacier is among the last in the country, and guided two- to three-day climbs approach from the Mérida cable car's upper stations.
